Nazario Romero runs through Torrey Pines State Reserve during the La Jolla Half Marathon on April 26, 2009. Romero, 35, won the race after ending a three-year absence caused by an injury near his right achilles. Romero broke the course record in 2003 with a time of 1:06:23, and beat second place finisher Matt Stohl by almost three minutes with a time of 1:10:24.
