Acid mine drainage water in Salt Lick Township in Perry County, Ohio, flows from a pipe into a limestone leach bed designed to passively treat acid mine drainage in the Sunday Creek watershed. It is part of the West Branch Headwaters project, which recently installed Sunday Creek's first acid mine drainage treatment system to help treat four AMD discharges in the area. It is estimated that the project will equate to annual acid and metal reductions of 10,731 lb/year and 59,787 lb/year respectively.
