An estimated 20,000 people marched down Sixth Avenue in San Diego on November 15, 2008 to protest the passing of Proposition 8, which banned gay marriage in California. The overwhelmingly peaceful event was the largest of several protests held nationwide, and culminated in a rally in front of the County Administration Building overlooking San Diego's waterfront.
